Are you struggling to have more time and structure in your day? Do you feel like you are starting or planning a lot of things but when the day ends not much has been done? Have you wondered how to be more productive without feeling overwhelmed?
Here are 6 tips that have helped me be more effective in what I want to accomplish. It has in consequence allowed me to have more time for self-care and relaxation.

1. Prepare ahead of time:
Have you ever wanted to do something but just the thought of it makes you feel overwhelmed? If yes, then this tip is for you. Preparing ahead of time will make you more likely to accomplish your task. For example, if you want to work out in the morning, get your clothes ready the night before so that you won’t have any excuses to get moving. It also saves you time in the morning, which is always appreciated.

2. Get things done in the morning
I personally feel that I am the most productive in the morning. Therefore, I like to squeeze in my workout, stretching or yoga practice right when I wake up. As a result, I don’t have to think about it for the rest of the day.

3. Dedicate some time to respond to your emails and messages
I will be honest and tell you that I am really terrible at answering at my emails and messages. I find that the best way to keep up to date with everything is to schedule some time in the morning to dedicate to this task. Also it doesn’t interrupt me in my other occupations during the day. Of course if something is urgent I will answer right away. However, try to focus on one task after the other and not multi-task. Consequently, it will allow you to be more effective in what you are doing.

4. Prepare your food ahead of time
I don’t always have a lot of time to dedicate to cooking. What I find really helpful is to cut my fruits and vegetables ahead of time and stock them in the fridge. Be careful not to let them in there for too long, but a couple days are alright.
Adopting this habit helps me eat healthy while not taking too much time in the kitchen. Also I am more prone to grab a healthy snack if everything is prepared.

This leads me to another key point…

5. Meal prep /cook in batches
I like to make bigger quantities when I cook so that I have meals for a few days. It then saves me time and makes my desire to eat healthy much easier.
Also meal prepping for the week is a good option. You can bring your food at work or school and therefore enjoy a balanced meal.

6. Focus on your priorities
The days can seem very short and stressful. Especially if you want to do everything without knowing exactly where you’re heading. Hence the importance of setting clear goals and knowing what your priorities are. It will help you make better decisions, put aside some tasks or keep them for another day.

So there you go! Those were my six tips to be more productive. I hope that they will be helpful and let me know in the comments down below what helps you be more productive.

Take care of yourselves!
